100% Silver Plated Tea Cuddy. Antique Silverplate on Copper Figural Chinese Theme Tea Caddy. By Barbour Silver CO circa 1900s. This is a beautiful tea caddy by Barbour Silver Company of Hartford, Connecticut. It is Antique silver over copper tea caddy in hexagonal shape and has very detailed panels of Chinese landscape and scene all around the sides. It has a polished bottom with the number 8788 and double Barbour trademarks - pictorial and in letter HBEP. It's hallmarked on the bottom, we have been able to track down the maker... And now we could a guess as to the age. Barbour Silver Company of Hartford, Connecticut. Established in 1892 but later moved to New Haven, Connecticut. In the late 1800's merged with the International Silver Company. Barbour Silver became one of the first silver firms absorbed by the International Silver Co. When that concern was established in 1898.

The International Silver Company continued to use the Barbour Silver Company trademarks until 1931. 4 3/4" high x 2 1/8" across up x 3 5/8'' across bottom.
